But WHY?
As most Bears fans know, Kevin Butler (aka “Butthead”) was a kicker and punter for the Chicago Bears from 1985-1995 and won a World Championship with the ‘85 Bears his rookie season. A mainstay on the Bears’ roster for a full decade, Butler was a loved player within the Chicago Bears fan network. Wearing the #6 jersey and his single-bar helmet, a football item now made illegal by the league, Butler represented the league’s oldest franchise and embodied that spirit through his time in Chicago. Fast-forward 14 years and the Bears trade for a stud quarterback in the prime of his career – his name, Jay Cutler. Cutler also wears the #6 jersey and in additon, his last name perfectly rhymes with Butler.
